About Rishikesh
Surrounded by Himalayan foothills, on the banks of the Ganges, in the town that has been home to sages and seekers for thousands of years.
Rishikesh, a peaceful town on the banks of the sacred River Ganga, is often referred to as the Yoga Capital of the World. Surrounded by the Himalayan foothills and immersed in spiritual vibrations, this ancient land has been home to sages, yogis, and seekers for thousands of years.
Rishikesh became a global symbol of spirituality when The Beatles visited in 1968 to study Transcendental Meditation with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Since then the town has drawn countless spiritual seekers and yoga lovers from every part of the world.
Known as Tapobhoomi (the land of meditation), Rishikesh is more than a destination — it is a spiritual experience. The energy of the Himalayas, the purity of the Ganga, and the collective aura of generations of practitioners make this town uniquely transformative. Whether you're practising yoga on the riverbanks, chanting at a Ganga aarti, or exploring ancient temples and ashrams, Rishikesh invites you to dive deep within yourself.
At Deep Yoga Wellness, we are proud to be rooted in Rishikesh's timeless yogic tradition. Our shala in Tapovan provides a sanctuary for students from around the world to study, practise, and live yoga in its most authentic form.
